Dahlia BAGpack - multifunctional & sustainable
Dahlia BAGpack is a multifunctional backpack that easily turns into a shoulder bag. It is made from Piñatex; a natural, sustainable textile made from pineapple leaves. All the materials are 100% vegan and cruelty-free. The backpack is carefully designed + ethically made in a small local artisanal workshop.

Why is Dahlia BAGpack multifunctional?
Because you can turn the backpack into a shoulder bag in just three easy steps! The shoulder straps of the backpack are removable with a detachable metal ring. The handle of the bag made from Piñatex is also removable.
The bag closes with a magnetic button and zipper. At the back, there is also a practical pocket with a zipper, where you can store the things you want to have to hand.
Why is Dahlia BAGpack sustainable and what is Piñatex?
The backpack is sustainable because we use carefully selected materials which are cruelty-free and have a low environmental impact.
- Piñatex is an innovative natural textile made from waste pineapple leaf fibre.
Piñatex’s journey starts in the Philippines where the pineapple leaves, a by-product of the existing agricultural industry, are collected. The leaves of the plant are processed to extract the fibres and these are manufactured into a non-woven substrate. No extra land, water or pesticides are required to produce the raw material.
Piñatex is also R E A C H compliant. It is lightweight, durable and water-resistant. The material is sustainable, ethically sourced and has a low environmental footprint.
It is pleasant to the touch and has an interesting texture. The lining of the backpack is made from organic cotton. It has both a zippered and open pocket.
The shoulder straps are made using recycled ECONYL yarn. Econyl is made from recycled fishing nets and textile waste. The material is OEKO TEX 100 certified. The straps are removable with a detachable metal ring.
Another aspect of sustainability
The backpack is lightweight and the well thought out design gives it that timeless quality. It can be worn in all seasons and combined with different styles.
You can wear it for a walk around the city, for a business event or a weekend getaway in the countryside.
How big is Dahlia BAGpack?
The dimensions of the Dahlia BAGpack are: 30 cm x 33 cm x 10 cm (11,8 in x 13 in x 4 in). It fits a 13-inch laptop and everything on the picture: a book, a planner, a wallet, sunglasses, a mobile phone, 4 x Pencil case from Piñatex, a tablet and 2 x mandarin orange.

Designed and ethically made in Slovenia
Multifunctional Dahlia BAGpack is designed and entirely made in Slovenia. We are collaborating with a small artisanal workshop from Vrhnika, where almost all Fi by Gaja bags made from Piñatex are produced.
Our collections are usually made in small series. It is our priority to keep our production in our local environment and to ensure our contractors have a fair wage and regulated working conditions.
