Collection: THREE WORLDS - ONE HEART

A collection devoted to memories, stories, and the women of three worlds

Three Worlds – One Heart is an intimate tribute to three remarkable women — sisters Milena, Zlatka, and Nada — intellectuals, Slovenian women who each left a meaningful mark on the places, times, and people around them.

Their journeys carried them far from home: Milena, my grandmother and the central inspiration behind the collection, moved from Štajerska to the Karst. Zlatka built her life in Pula. Nada wove her story in Skopje.

Although life scattered them to three different corners of the world, they remained connected by something unbreakable — a bond of sisterhood, elegance of thought, intellect, education, warmth, and a dignified presence shared by all three.

This collection marks an artistic shift for Fi by Gaja: for the first time, alongside the bags — which remain the heart of the brand — the collection also includes clothing.

The project brings together four bag models (each in three color variations) and six garments. As always, I did not design with a single season in mind. The bags are conceived as timeless pieces meant to be worn for years, and the garments follow the same philosophy, ranging from a winter coat to a light summer tunic.

A key element of the collection is its original prints, reflecting the color palettes and cultural influences of the places where the sisters lived. These appear on the bags, the garments, and as standalone graphic prints. The motifs and symbols are rooted in my personal memories of my grandmother Milena and her sisters, as well as the cultural, architectural, and landscape elements of their environments. The collection intertwines the rugged Karst, the coastal spirit of Istria, and rich Macedonian ornamentation.

Every piece is crafted from materials chosen with the environment in mind. The bags are made from plant-based leather alternatives derived from apple skin and printed cotton, while the garments use wool, silk, cotton, and viscose.

The color palette — brown, light blue, burgundy, gold, soft pink, and yellow — gently unites the three worlds into a harmonious whole.

A special meaning is carried by the coat, symbolizing protection, warmth, and courage — the moment one steps into the unknown. The bag, my primary design medium, remains a symbol of home: a guardian of memories that travels with us.

This project is rooted in the values of slow and sustainable fashion, local craftsmanship, and ethical creation. It honors heritage, connection, and the kind of love that endures even when paths diverge.

Three Worlds – One Heart is more than a fashion story. It is a homage to the women who shaped my worldview — a tribute to migration, identity, courage, family bonds, and the quiet, unspoken messages passed down through generations.
